Lewis Hamilton has used his position as a global influencer and humanitarian to condemn Israel’s genocide of Gaza and has called for the world to unite in launching an international aid effort to save the remaining population. Israel used the fallout of October 7th, 2023, as a pretext to begin a campaign of genocide. Israeli politicians have not hidden their desire to commit mass atrocities—war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu even referred to Gazans as Amalek, a term from the Old Testament used to describe the total annihilation of the enemies of Israel.
Other members of Netanyahu’s extreme right-wing rogue government have referred to Palestinians as “human animals.” The Israeli army itself records and uploads videos to social media showcasing the destruction it inflicts across Gaza—from blowing up buildings to killing women, children, and the infirm, even burning people alive in their hospital beds with IV drips still attached.
Over 80 percent of Gazans killed since 2023 have been women and children. UN reports estimate over 55,000 children have been killed, while Doctors Without Borders estimates the true death toll may be closer to 200,000—many of them unaccounted for, buried beneath the rubble of their homes destroyed by Israeli airstrikes.
Not only has Israel savagely killed Palestinians, but it has also—confirmed by multiple Israeli news and media outlets—invoked the Hannibal Directive, a military order that authorises the killing of Israeli hostages captured by Hamas on October 7th.
Since October 7th, Gaza City has been under siege, with water and electricity cut off by Israel—a war crime in and of itself. Israel launched a massive aerial bombardment of Gaza, dropping bombs equivalent to eight Hiroshimas. The relentless attacks have reduced Gaza to rubble, forcing people to live in tents—yet even those seeking shelter in tents have been targeted by Israeli airstrikes.
As of this writing, Israel’s genocide continues. The Israeli army is entering Gaza City with tanks and airstrikes. Their stated mission is to defeat Hamas, a political resistance movement that was originally covertly funded in full by Israel as a strategy to divide Palestine and keep it in perpetual disorder.
Hamilton made a brief post on social media, urging his followers to donate to aid organisations:

“We can’t just stand by and do nothing,” Hamilton wrote. “I’ve donated to three organizations that work tirelessly to help those in need. If you have anything to give, I’d be grateful if you joined me.”
Sadly, his words and influence will not be enough to stop the genocide being committed in Gaza by Israel. Gaza sits on an estimated $500 trillion worth of natural oil and gas deposits, one of many reasons this genocide is being carried out.
Israel is backed by Western governments that publicly condemn the killing of Gazans, but in private, facilitate the genocide by providing intelligence, weapons, and military assistance.
