Toyota turned heads at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 with a bold new Corolla concept that signals a dramatic shift for the legendary compact sedan. The concept strips away the familiar look of the 12th-generation model, replacing it with sleek, modern lines, EV-inspired proportions, and sharp styling cues.
At the front, the traditional grille is gone, replaced by a narrow lower intake and a subtle vent beneath the windshield. Full-width LED headlights combine horizontal and vertical elements for a futuristic take on Toyota’s “hammerhead” design.

The side profile is elegant and purposeful, featuring descending window lines, sculpted panels, conventional door handles, and a charging port integrated into the front fender. The rear impresses with a ducktail spoiler, full-width pixel-like taillights, and crisp “Corolla” badging that give the sedan a contemporary stance.

Inside, the radical rethink continues. A floating centre console echoes the vehicle’s shape, futuristic seats and ambient lighting set a high-tech mood, and modestly sized screens maintain a clean digital cockpit. Key controls are integrated into the steering wheel and instrument cluster, and interior space remains generous, showing Toyota hasn’t sacrificed practicality for style.

While Toyota hasn’t confirmed a launch date, the current model’s age suggests the new Corolla could arrive around 2026. The concept hints at a smarter, sleeker, and more electric-ready future for one of the world’s most enduring compact cars.
