Lotus has introduced its X Hybrid platform, delivering up to 952 PS, a combined driving range of over 1,200 km, and up to 350 km of pure electric driving. The system will debut in Europe with the Lotus ELETRE X, following its initial launch in China with the Lotus FOR ME prototype. European specifications will be confirmed closer to the official launch in June 2026, with deliveries expected in Q4 2026.
The X Hybrid platform is engineered around Lotus’s philosophy of “Electric-First, Hybrid-Empowered”, combining the immediacy of an EV with the long-distance capability of a hybrid drivetrain.
It seamlessly switches between pure EV, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid modes, optimizing performance, efficiency, and real-world usability in every driving scenario. Lotus emphasizes that the platform delivers supercar-level performance—0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds—without compromising range or daily usability.
The system’s four pillars—Next Technology, Extra Power, Extreme Charging, and Extended Range—underpin its capabilities.
Highlights include a 150 kW hybrid generator for on-the-move energy replenishment, dual PMSM motors producing 952 PS, ultra-fast DC charging in about 9 minutes (20–80%), and a 70 kWh battery paired with a 52 L fuel tank to enable extended driving range.
Regenerative braking and advanced thermal management further enhance performance and efficiency. Lotus has also focused on handling, chassis, and interior refinement. Features such as a 48V active anti-roll bar, active rear spoiler, dual-chamber air suspension, Brembo six-piston brakes, and Lotus-developed tyres ensure precise control and dynamic driving.
Inside, the ELETRE X offers luxury touches, including full Nappa leather, a 23-speaker KEF audio system, and a PDLC dimming panoramic roof, combining cutting-edge technology with premium craftsmanship.
