Geely is stepping up its European expansion with the debut of the new Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV at the Paris Motor Show on Monday 12.

Positioned as Geely Auto’s first global D-segment PHEV, the Monjaro EM-i is aimed at buyers seeking the space and refinement of a large SUV without committing fully to a combustion-powered drivetrain.

Its EM-i Super Hybrid system is designed to combine strong performance with low energy consumption and the flexibility of extended driving range.

Underneath, the Monjaro EM-i uses Geely’s GEA-Evo architecture, a platform developed specifically for new-energy vehicles.

It incorporates the company’s GEEA 3.0 electrical and electronic architecture, while the platform’s emphasis on packaging is intended to maximise interior space and comfort.

The Monjaro EM-i will headline Geely’s Paris display alongside three other electrified models: the compact electric EX2, EX5 electric SUV and STARRAY EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV.

The four-car line-up underlines Geely’s increasingly broad approach to electrification, spanning affordable urban EVs through to larger, more premium hybrid SUVs.
