McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown is reportedly set to have earned £75.4 million ($99.8 million) in 2025, putting his total compensation above that of almost every driver on the current Formula 1 grid.
According to reports ahead of McLaren Racing’s 2025 accounts, the team generated £588 million in revenue during a hugely successful season in which Lando Norris won the drivers’ championship and McLaren secured the constructors’ title.
Brown’s reported package is heavily influenced by a share award linked to the value of a McLaren buyout deal. His underlying pay has also risen sharply in recent years.
In 2024, he reportedly received a £6 million base salary, alongside a further £31 million through a long-term incentive plan.
His 2025 earnings reportedly exceeded the combined salaries of McLaren drivers Norris and Oscar Piastri, who are said to earn around $40 million and $13 million respectively.
Only Max Verstappen is reportedly ahead of Brown, with his new Red Bull deal said to be worth approximately $107 million annually. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is reportedly on a $60 million salary at Ferrari.
Brown’s enormous pay packet highlights the commercial transformation of McLaren under his leadership, with the team developing into one of F1’s most valuable and successful operations.
