Lando Norris secured pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix in a dramatic one-lap shootout, narrowly beating Max Verstappen in a tightly fought qualifying session. The session saw major drama when Carlos Sainz crashed in Q3, causing Verstappen’s fastest lap to be deleted for not slowing down under yellow flags.

The top ten drivers faced a challenging street circuit, with Hulkenberg, Alonso, and Tsunoda on used tires. Verstappen initially led, but after Sainz’s crash brought out a red flag, Norris capitalized on the restart.

Verstappen’s deleted lap briefly promoted Oscar Piastri to the top spot, but Norris ultimately claimed pole with a time of 1:29.525.

Verstappen secured second, while Lewis Hamilton briefly held second before being pushed down. Leclerc’s lap time was deleted for running wide, dropping him to ninth, with Sainz starting tenth.
