Kia is being investigated for failing to address repeated warnings regarding safety defects in its fuel tank design.
Kia America is recalling 250,547 K5 vehicles in the U.S. due to damaged fuel tanks that pose a fire risk, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Thursday.
Affected vehicles will have their fuel tanks inspected and replaced, and dealers will also replace the check valve, according to NHTSA.
