Porsche will delight UK buyers with a special edition model exclusively pimped for the British market, except Scotland, that is until after the Scottish can decide whether or not they want to remain part of this great British Union. Aye, they can take our North Sea gas oil but they can never take our financial capital.
Errrr… anyway the Porsche 911 Turbo S GB Edition is a shameless attempt to celebrate 40 years of 911 greatness and we love shameless attempts to make us part with our money.
But Porsche isn’t a Nigerian scam operation setup in Burkina Faso, its honed its engineering pedigree for decades and is celebrated for innovation. But this special edition is still a shameless celebration and just 40 shameless examples will be hot footing to the UK.
But you may have latched onto something, 40 years? Yep that’s why this made for the UK special edition Porsche is limited to just 40 examples. get it? 40 years – 40 examples. Got it?
The Porsche 911 Turb0 S GB Edition is basically a series of styling upgrades, doffing its cap to the first 911 Turbo from 1974, this includes 20-inch Sport Classic alloys, wing mirrors, rear privacy glass and door handles all finished in gloss black. Completing the exterior look are 911 logo/go faster stripes. The interior also gets a few special edition treats, the highlight being the Union Flag embossed on the central storage compartment lid.
Underpinning all this is the 911 Turbo S’ 553bhp and 700Nm tourque, 3.8-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo engine. Power is distributed to all four wheels via a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, that means a 0-62mph time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 197mph.
