The new XC90 finally made its long and overdue debut in August, but something was missing, the R-Design version which is “designed” to inject a bit of zest into the goulash. The XC90 R-Design gets you an updated more aggressive looking bodykit with flashes of silver finish to the roof rails and door mirrors, an R-Design embossed interior and that’s pretty much it. Its all about the finishing detail’s for the XC90 R-Design, such as the silk effect metal window surround, and if you are one those middle class, probably by now middle aged rappers then the 20-inch alloy wheels add a bit of bling to the zing. Yes I really did write that last bit. We do know Volvo will be omitting one thing, the uprated sports chassis / suspension as fitted to the saloon and estate R-Design variants and neither will there be an uprated performance version. Just yet that is. The XC90 R-Design is expected to be available in the UK by July 2015, pricing is yet to be confirmed.
