Tesla Model 3 Estate Is Good To Go?
Auto News

This is the Tesla Model 3 estate aka station-wagon. And no it isn’t official its a concept rendering by internet Photoshop specialist X-Tomi. We don’t need to go into great detail about the concept other than its a Model 3 estate concept rendering… thing.

To our untrained eyes, it looks like a Mazda 6 estate and errmm, that’s all we can say in addition to, marvel at the genius that is X-Tomi and his spectacular creation.

But let’s get back to earth and the real subject surrounding the Tesla Model 3. Despite being hit by supplier issues that will delay deliveries of the Model 3 Tesla has seen a surge in demand.

Tesla aims to sell 500,000 electric cars by 2020 and are looking at the Model 3 as a bread-winner. That is to say the Model 3 will become a staple diet for volume sales.

Not soon after launch, Tesla took 275,000 pre-orders over two days as customers placed a £1000 deposit via the Tesla website.

In the US there were 565,000 sales of plug-in electric cars during 2015, but electric and hybrid sales still account for less than 1 percent of total car sold in the US.

But the real question is can Tesla ramp up its production to meet demand. Even the bigger volume manufacturers take years to reach production targets.

Tesla is halfway to meeting its 2020 production target in a little over two days. The world’s best-selling electric car, the Neesan Leaf, has sold 211,000 units globally since it launched in 2010.

Industry analysts suggest that Tesla won’t be ready to supply demand quickly despite using Toyota’s former Nummi factory which has a production capacity of 400,000 units per year.

If you want a Tesla estate then you are probably going to have wait a few… years. Many many years to be more precise.
