However this concept appealed to our sensibilities, sometimes opinion’s can be changed and such as this concept-for-fun did its trick. Its by schurmanndesign, an Italian designer with a prolific appetite for all things Ferrari and supercars.
We think it looks better than the current 458 Italia Spider, simpler styling details and curvier curves, you see we know how to use design language at its best. Ahem.
If you think that this will ever be made then think again, as we said its just a concept for fun. The only issue we have are with the lights, we don’t like them too much.
At the soul of the current 458 Italia is a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 producing 562bhp at 9,000 rpm. Torque is rated at 398 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm, 80 percent of which is available from 3,250 rpm. The zero-to-60 mph sprint dispatched in just 3.3 seconds with a 201-mph top speed.
The 458 Italia Spider costs nearly £200k GBP in the UK and that’s enough to hurt our eyes, the problem we have with convertibles is not the slightly reduced performance but the fact that they are really purchased by poseur’s and that really makes our blood boil. And makes our eyes hurt.
