Skoda Superb The Third Generation
Auto News
This is the new Skoda Superb or at least a concept rendering released by the powers that be at Skoda central and gives an insight into how the third generation model will look. The current second generation Superb will be replaced sometime in the summer and will to be the most premium flagship car Skoda have built to date with pricing expected to range between £25-30k GBP. The Vision C concept is the basis for the forthcoming Superb the exterior design uses sharper almost square-ish lines in what resembles mild origami like body detailing. The Superb has sold just over 70,000 units since it was introduced in 2001. The current diesel and engine line up for the UK is expected to be retained and the introduction of a 1.4-litre TSi with active cylinder management, to improve fuel efficiency, is expected to join the ranks. The technology is borrowed from Audi’s endurance racing success. The arrival of a hybrid power plant is also expected by 2016 this will use a 1.4-litre TSi engine mated to a 107bhp electric motor, the technology is already being used in the Golf GTE Plug-in Hybrid.  Skoda-Superb-2015
