BMW is refocusing the Mini brand, which is said not to be generating favorable profits for the mothership. The new strategy will focus on fewer model orientations and better overall quality. The poor selling Paceman, Coupe and Roadster are said to be given their marching orders.
The Superleggera will carry over the current Mini engine range, it isn’t clear if it will be a model with a short production shelf life. Think of the Supperleggera as Mini’s answer to the Mazda MX-5.
Will the Mini Superleggera concept really make it unchanged when it hits production? It could but rarely do car manufactures entertain the thought of limiting long term profits for short term gains. In other words don’t expect miracles.
