Updated MG6 Gets A Bit of Spit And Polish
Auto News
It isn’t new as the marketing brochure wants you to believe but it is a mid-life make over four years after the launch or should that be re-launch of the MG brand in the UK. Prices start at £13k for the entry level MG6S which is a £3k reduction from before. Lets put that into perspective, a new Mini hatch is about £1k more and Mini isn’t exactly know for being generous when it comes to handing out standard levels of kit. MG6-Floating-In-White-Empty-Space The 2015 MG6 gets a series of updates, like most automotive mid-life make overs its rather a blink and you will miss it affair. Three new trim levels are offered, MG6 S, MG6 TS and MG6 TL all very simple and straight forward so far. Cosmetically the MG 6 gets a new set of headlight designs, a new set of front and rear bumpers and inside the interior trim is upgraded along with a re-designed center console which now features a new 7.0-inch media touchscreen system. MG6-Interior The only engine of choice is the 1.9-litre turbo diesel which develops 150PS and 350NM from 1800rpm and now produces 119g/km of CO2. The engine has also been tweaked for improved drive-ability and slightly better efficiency and response, MG claims small fuel economy figures of around 61mpg. Standard levels of kit for the entry level S model include heated front seats LED daylight running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels and the electronic parking brake and the 7.0 inch touchscreen includes DAB radio. You can imagine then that the higher you go up the trim-level-ladder the more spec becomes available and so it is the case. So then the updated MG6 is available to order now for UK customers. The new models are:
  • New MG6 S –  £13,995.00
  • New MG6 TS – £16,195.00
  • New MG6 TL – £17,995.00
