This is the next generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 according to TopSpeed.com and their best imaginations. The current Camaro ZL1 uses a 6.2-litre, supercharged V8 and produces 580bhp and an earthquake inducing 752Nm of torque. Obviously performance figures read fast, 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 180mph. That’s fast for an American muscle car whose owners survive on a diet of watching Homeland, eating donuts and making hilarious Giffs of Osama Bin Laden. Still the 2016 Camaro is sure to be faster still, it will be lighter and like the current model will have 4-wheel independent suspension which for a muscle car is like having successful brain surgery to improve intelligence. A 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo will join the ranks packing in a derisory 270bhp, and if you want to do a handbrake turn then forget about it, its got an electronic parking brake. The ZL1 is the bonkers crazy version of the Camaro, but you’ll have to wait until around 2018 when its released. For now you’ll have to first make do with that 2.0-litre version or the all new V6 version both of which are scheduled for a 2016 release. So the new Camaro will have brains and brawn and the ZL1? well its sure to have even more horsepower. And all that for around $58,000 dollars which is like supercar money but for a fraction of the cost. God we love America.
