All New Subtly Sharper Audi A4 Revealed
Auto News
Audi have revealed the all new A4 saloon and estate, now we must admit the changes are subtle but do believe us its been thoroughly resigned from the ground up. First of all the new A4 is 120kg lighter and 21 percent more efficient than the previous generation A4.  For as long as we can remember Audi has always been proud of having the lowest in-class drag coefficient and they’ve done it again the new A4 which now has a drag coefficient of 0.23. That’s best in-class don’t you know. Audi-A4-Avant-Saloon-2015 The new Audi A4 saloon and estate will launch with seven engines – three TFSI and four TDI. Power has been up-rated, the entry level model will offer a standard 150PS while the most powerful (non-performance version) will offer 272PS. The 2.0-litre TDi Ultra Saloon offers the engine with lowest C02 emissions at below 100g/km. The troublesome 2.0-litre TFSi of the previous generation, which had excessive oil consumption issues, has been significantly revised in a bid to cure this persistent problem. Audi-A4-Avant-Saloon-2015 Later on during the cars product life-cycle Audi will launch a 2.0-litre TFSi g-tron version in markets which offer natural gas filling points. The six-speed manual transmission, seven speed S Tronic and eight speed auto have been redesigned. Wheel-selective torque control supplements the work of the front-wheel drive and the quattro drive. Audi will offer the sport differential on the rear axle as an option from 2016 for the most powerful TDI. The new A4 also has a revised suspension setup, the engineers have tinkered with the five-link axles and the electromechanical power steering to make for a more relaxed yet dynamic drive, which is actually what Jaguar do better than any other manufacture. Audi-A4-Avant-2015 Audi’s new virtual cockpit will be also be available, this is a digital instrument binnacle as offered on the current Audi TT. Of course no manufacture worth its weight in gold would be foolish not to offer a vast array of lucrative (overpriced) options. Audi won’t fail its drivers in this regard you can be sure there will be plenty of options you wont need but must have. For example, Contour lighting that illuminates the doors and the central console? That sounds like an expensive must have option to us. Camera-based traffic-sign recognition? Hell yeah! we’ll take that too. All in all we would usually say the new A4 is a ‘blink-and-miss’ mid-cycle update, but it really is a complete yet subtly sharper looking overhaul. UK consumers will be able to order the all new A4 in late summer with first deliveries expected in December. Pricing will be ever so slightly more expensive than the previous generation.  Audi-A4-Saloon-2015
