You would think that an individual waiting behind a grass bank or bushes holding a camera with a long lens would be arrested on the spot. It seems these people have a knack of catching the latest new thing and photographing said latest new thing without being caught. This is a skill which requires said individual to have cat like instinct’s. And so it seems capturing the latest new thing, in this case the 2017 Mercedes E Class, is no problem for the modern day car spy photographer. Auto companies hate them but we the car buying public admire them for they give us an early look in to the latest new thing. So here it is the 2017 Mercedes E Class undisguised by camouflage stickers and looking like a bigger version of the new C Class which is styled to be a smaller version of the latest S Class. Our Friends over at Mercedes Blog give an insight into the new E Class, based on a new aluminium modular platform the weight has been reduced by a reputed 70-150kg’s. The engine range will also be updated to include three, four and six cylinder units. A new inline 6 cylinder twin turbo is set to debut when the new E Class is finally ready for its full reveal in 2017. The reduction in weight is necessary to incorporate the next generation of Plug-in Hybrid technologies and a new 9 speed auto will be included. The price has not yet been revealed but its fair to say a price rise will be expected, analysts predict an expected price hike of around £500 – 1000.
