New Porsche 911 Turbo Has Never Looked Better… Or More Expensive
Auto News
According to Porsche the new 911 Turbo Coupe and Convertible are the most ultimate 911’s your money can buy. Who are we to disagree with this extraordinary self confidence, but at least we can disagree with the entry level asking price. The 911 Turbo, which is available in two power grades, goes on sale in the UK at the end of January in 2016 and when it does it will cost a whopping £126,925. The slightly more powerful 911 Turbo S is no less expensive at £135,000.  Porsche engineers have managed to eek out 20bhp from the twin-turbocharged, 3.8-litre flat-six engine in the 911 Turbo which now has an output of 540bhp.  The 911 Turbo S now develops 580bhp courtesy of new turbochargers with larger compressors. Yet despite the horsepower differences between the ‘standard’ 911 turbo and the 911 Turbo S straight-line performance isn’t that different. The 911 Turbo hits 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds and can reach a top speed of 198mph. Porsche-911-Turbo-2016-Rear The 911 Turbo S is little as makes no difference faster, 0-62mph is reached in 2.9 seconds while the top speed is 201mph. Porsche claims both models offer great mpg economy rates… But if you have the money to afford such a high end car are you really concerned about how much it will cost to run? Perhaps if you are YouTuber Supercars of London, but not if you are properly loaded. As with all Porsches that expensive outlay does pay for a load of expensive standard kit such as Sport Chrono Package with Mode Switch and Sport Response. What the what now? Porsche-911-Turbo-2016-Interior The Mode Switch allows the driver to individualise and store a preferred vehicle set-up while the Sport Response Switch is kind of like an engine management mode which pre-conditions the engine and transmission for optimum responsiveness and can produce instantaneous acceleration for up to 20 seconds. Indeed the new 911 Turbo is loaded with electronic driving aids such as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) in addition to a host of other stability controls all designed to enable jerk-wads who would otherwise crash without these stability systems to actually drive like jerk-wads all day long. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are standard. Porsche-911-Turbo-2016-Profile Porsche have typically made very minor styling updates, although in Porsche language the exterior styling is significantly updated.  The newly-formed nose with side-mounted airblades LED front lights with double fillets are designed to give the front end a wider look. If you are expected to pay upto £125k for the entry level 911 Turbo then expect it to be fully loaded with kit. New design 20-inch alloys are one such expectation, on the inside the 911 Turbos get a a newly developed infotainment system with Bluetooh this, wired that and a Bose sound system. Lets just say the new 911 Turbo is fully loaded with kit and now a damn sight more expensive but its never looked better in our opinion. 2016 Porsche 911 Prices:
