Faraday Future Reveals Ground Zero Concept
Auto News
As if rising from a desert storm Faraday Future is a start-up electric car maker and has huge financial backing as the race for the future of the electric car begins to take shape. Faraday Future is a US based company funded by Chinese internet TV provider LeTV. Any media driven content provider in China is owned by the state so one can surmise that Faraday Future is indeed funded by the Chinese government.  That funding has allowed for accelerated growth and thats without turning a profit and with plenty of money yet to be invested. Faraday Future has a 700 plus strong workforce comprising mainly of former Tesla, Lamborghini and even Space X employees. FFZero1-Interior The Head Designer is a former BMW employee who penned the i3 and i8 electric cars. Faraday Future is so well funded that it is able to create a $1 billion dollar factory for future electric car production. So how do you make people aware of who you are, what you do and what you have to offer? In the automotive industry its easy to get noticed but only if you can make an eye catching, headline grabbing showcar… or offer 0% finance. We, the consumer, know this trick of the trade as the concept car. Faraday Future’s marketing division has a rather cruder term, they call it a publicity stunt. FFZero1-Top Many journalists have nothing better to do and always, always fall for the glitzy headline grabbing press call. Faraday Future’s press call isn’t happening at the 2016 Detroit Show but at an electronic tech show, CES in Las Vegas. Faraday Future’s headline grabbing, publicity hungry concept car is called the FFZero1 which is really a design and engineering study. However the company is not bleating on about an exotic new development of the electric motor. FFZero1-Front More specifically Faraday Future is talking up its modular platform that allows for lightning quick development times with the ability to produce different model wheelbases with the additional benefit of adapting the layout to incorporate one or four electric motors and battery packs. As a result Faraday Future could produce electric cars that focus solely on range while the FFZero1 could be all about the speed. The FFZero1 is powered by four electric motors which produces 1,000bhp, 0-60mph is rated at below 3 seconds and the top speed is theoretically rated at 200mph. However the FFZero1 will never be made, yes it also has autonomous driving tech, a touchscreen interface and F1 inspired drag reduction aerodynamics, but as with all concept cars ever made the FFZero1 will be gather dust in the corner of a museum after the glitzy dust has settled.  FFZero1-Profile
