VLF Automotive is a new bespoke luxury car maker set up by former GM Chairman Bob Lutz and wealthy industrialist Gilbert Villarreal. VLF Automotive was founded in 2013 and is based in the US state of Michigan.
Henrik Fisker is well known as being a former creating the now defunct Fisker Automotive, an electric car company that raised $1.2 billion dollars in venture capital before filing for bankruptcy in 2013.
VLF Chairman Bob Lutz said in a recent interview with the WSJ “When Gilbert and I formed VL Automotive in 2012, we wanted to take Henrik’s beautifully proportioned design, replace the hybrid gas-electric power train with a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 drivetrain, and create a bespoke four-door luxury car with outstanding performance,”
The Force 1 V10 is based on the chassis of a Dodge Viper V10. The coach built body is forged from carbon fiber and uses the Viper’s 8.4-litre V10 powerplant which has been modified to release 745bhp to the rear wheels.
Performance stats read 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 218mph with buyers having the option of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission and rests on 21-inch alloy wheels.
The interior is focused on luxury with hand stitched leather and suede and is equipped with wi-fi and even a champagne holder.
The Force 1 V10 will be limited to 50 examples with each unit set to cost around £268,000 dollars.
