As far as we know cars do not exist in the Star Wars universe. We get many emails from our readers who want to know how Star Wars was made. After many, many weeks of heated editorial discussions we finally relented to the one individual who actually spends his free time reading DCB. Well with one visitor a day we have to take any petition seriously and so we were forced to relent.
So here is a Star Wars based post/article on how the movie industry uses digital effects to fool you into believing. Digital effects are now at a more advanced state then they have ever been, faster processors better able to handle complex dynamic effects has created a more photo realistic look.
In the past you could tell the difference between a digital effect and reality. The biggest advance in digital effects armoury has been the improvement of lighting technology and skin shaders.
Today a digital character can be rendered in almost photo realistic detail. and that’s a huge advantage into making the audience believe that they are not watching a CGi live action movie.
So how does this post tie into the carblog sphere… Honestly it doesn’t we admit that but it was a slow news day and thought why the hell not. And we must appease our one daily readership.
Our lamest argument is that the car industry could learn from the film industry into making better visualisations for customers at retail stores of a particular car/spec they are interest in. Think virtual reality walk-around.
