But if you are sick of Land Rover’s PR assault on the mind and senses, we here at DCB Towers are, then let us introduce you to one last Defender hurrah. They are calling it “The End” edition and “they” are Kahn Design.
With that subtle widebody look we think this version shows off the Defender’s classic industrial design cues at its very best, indeed it’s a better look than the standard off-the shelf factory spec version.
This being Kahn Design you don’t just get an exterior design upgrade, you also get a few extra trimmings for the interior.
Mr Afzal Kahn himself personally oversaw the makeover such as the GTB seats which are faced in quilted and perforated leather with Harris Tweed inserts.
The Grey Harris tweed upholstery is carried over to elements of the dashboard which are also faced in Harris Tweed. Powering the “The End” is a 2.2-litre TDCi engine.
Afzal Kahn is a keen Defender enthusiast and said of his bespoke creation “I have designed a vehicle that celebrates the history and unique personality of the Defender. My designs are known for their attention to detail, so I didn’t want this Defender to be any different. This is a fitting tribute to one of the world’s best loved vehicles and I would welcome feedback from Defender owners and enthusiasts alike who are welcome to visit my Kings Road boutique in Chelsea.”
What he didn’t mention was the cost, $80535 USD if you must know. Oh and it’s right hand drive.
