The engine line up will consist of four cylinder diesel and petrol turbo units and expect a T8 Plug-in hybrid to be shoe-horned into the engine line-up.
This petrol electric engine has a reputed power output of 394bhp and Volvo claims a combined economy of 134mpg and CO2 emissions of 49g/km.
Volvo is offering its next generation saloon and estate car in a market that is rapidly adopting compact/mid-sized SUV’s.
In addition Volvo also faces stiff competition from premium players who have dominated the mid-sized saloon and estate market, such as the BMW 5 Series and the next generation Mercedes E Class.
