BMW Unveils Vision Concept As It Turns 100 Years Old
Auto News
It’s called the BMW Vision Next 100, a literal name given to the company’s latest concept car and as the name suggests it’s a celebration of BMW the company reaching the ripe old age of 100 years old. It doesn’t look a day over 30. The BMW Vision Next 100 is a typically slick looking concept and is designed not just as a publicity stunt but also showcases what you can expect to see from BMW in the next 100 years. This writer and many other writers working for whichever motoring publications won’t be around in the next 100 years so in many ways this is a best guess of what we, you and I will miss out on. The Vision Next 100 is a autonomous car that has the ability to ‘shape shift’ and is powered by an exotic propulsion BMW won’t talk about. At a guess exotic fuel can mean any number of things from nuclear power (won’t happen) to hydrogen/electric hybrids. BMW-Vision-100-Concept Not even BMW van predict what will happen in the automotive industry over the next 100 years but arrival autonomous car technology is just around the corner. The biggest change in the automotive industry is the adoption of digital technology for enhanced user experience. The Vision Next 100 concept showcases a kind of digital heads-up display that is projected onto the entire windscreen. The distinctive front BMW “kidney grille” isn’t really required because the Vision next 100 isn’t powered by the internal combustion engine. But it is a styling motif to identify the BMW brand. What that means is, in the future BMW expect the internal combustion engine to be consigned to the history books. And who knows that some time over the next 100 years scientists may well have cracked the code for nuclear fusion. The power of the sun in the palm of your hands.  BMW-Vision-100-Profile
