Honda Reveals Entry Level Civic Sport
Auto News
Honda have revealed the new entry level Civic Sport which is powered by the firms new naturally aspirated 1.4-litre i-VTEC engine. It’s more like a special edition entry level model because despite the relatively small capacity engine Honda have tried to big up the little guy by disguising it with a distinctive name and a sprinkling of new exterior styling. The entry level ‘little guy’ gets a specifically styled look which is designed to appear more sporty and aggressive. The Civic Sport features a unique colour-coded rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels and borrows a few design cues from the Civic Type R, with a lower grille mesh and a black roof lining for the cabin. But it’s all for show to make up for the 1.4-litre i-VTEC single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine which say Honda has “been fine-tuned to boost both its dynamic performance environmental credentials”. Tax dodgers will like the CO2 emissions of 131 g/km. Power sliders won’t be too impressed with the output of 99bhp and a torque figure of 127 Nm. But hey some people might. Because we have run out of adjectives and we need to fill column space we will now borrow marketing information just in case you may be willing to pull the buying trigger. The Honda Civic Sport is priced at £18,360 OTR or £199 a month on a three year PCP deal with 5.9% APR and a deposit of £3,415. The 1.4-litre petrol engine variant is available in manual transmission, joins the 1.6-litre, 120 PS diesel engine and the 1.8-litre, 142 PS petrol engine in the Civic Sport line up. The new 1.4 i-VTEC Civic Sport will be available in Honda showrooms from May onwards.  Honda-Civic-Sport
