There will be choice of three PureTech three-cylinder petrol engines in three states of power, the PureTech 68, 82 and 110 (Stop & Start) will be mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.
Two manual Diesel powertrains will include the BlueHDi 75 (Stop & Start) and 100 (Stop & Start).Citroen will also off the brand’s EAT6 fully automatic gearbox as an option.
Citroen have gone for ride comfort over handling and say the C3 filters out road surface irregularities. Improved soundproofing will deter unwanted road noise and increase the ethereal comfort levels.
Citroen claim the C3 is highly customisable ” to ensure each owner can create a bespoke look that suits their individual style”.
The exterior has a two-tone paint option, with a choice of three roof colours and complimentary touches of colour around the car (fog lights, door mirrors, rear quarter panels and on the Airbump® panels).
The new C3 features design cues taken from the Cactus such as the two-tier front light signature synonymous with Citroën and slim-fit LED daytime running lights.
The Airbump® panels (air-filled bumps with a scratch-proof surface, as seen on C4 Cactus) offering personality and style, as well as protecting the vehicle.
For the exterior customers will have nine colours from which to choose from. Inside, customers have a choice of four different interiors. One such choice is Standard Ambience which features a grey neutral interior with yellow over-stitched upholstery.
The interior design has been simplified by the use of a 7-inch touchscreen that groups together all of the key vehicle functions.
Citroen have also introduced ConnectedCam a wideangle camera positioned just behind the rear view mirror and is able to record in full HD.
ConnectedCam is able to take photos which can be uploaded to social media or it can double as video system particularly in the event of a crash, footage can be later used as evidence.
The C3 will introduce a number of optional driver assist technologies to include Lane Departure warning, Blind Spot Monitoring and Driver and Driver Attention Alert.
Citroen have yet to reveal price and specification details but we do know the new C3 will be available to order in November with first deliveries expected in the 1st quarter of 2017.
Pricing has yet to be confirmed but entry level models are expected to cost between £10-11k.
