Autonomous driving technology, self-driving cars, is the next event horizon on the auto industry’s road map of advanced technology. It’s also good business and is expected to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars in sales.

Such technology is already here albeit in a kind of beta phase, right now you can buy cars equipped with semi-automated self-driving technology. It works great but there is still a long way to go to make it better.

It really depends on the power of the onboard computer, modern-day CPU’s are the fastest and most powerful they have ever been. Such power has led to a technological revolution in the last 10 years.
