For Audi the future really has gotten a step closer, spy shots of the exterior are now floating around the interweb. Audi isn’t hiding the Q8 under a mangle of add-on camouflage what you see is literally what you get. But it’s the interior that is sparking the biggest debate, at least we here at DCB Towers think it is. The sleek angular lines of the dash feature no physical buttons at all, it’s all touch screen, rather like the Star Ship Enterprise from the Next Generation. The Q8 will become Audi’s predator flagship SUV around the same size as the Q7 the Q8 will have a much rakish, sportier profile. The engine lineup is sure to be similar to the Q7’s so expect a range of diesel and petrol engines in line with Audi’s current offering. And also expect an SQ8 version. A 4WD plug-in hybrid variant is expected to be paired with the 3.0-litre TFSi and an electric motor which develops a total system power of 438bhp and 700Nm of torque. The styling should closely mirror the Q8 Sport Concept revealed at the Geneva Motorshow, think of it as Audi’s rival for the Range Rover Velar. The Audi Q8 is expected to go on sale in 2018 following an official reveal later this year, prices are expected start from £60k.
