Rejoice As Porsche Finally Ends Diesel Production
Auto News
A diesel engine is not compatible with a Porsche it’s like alien DNA it just doesn’t sequence and the human mind can not process the horror story that was diesel & Porsche. Finally, after 10 years Porsche is ending production of all diesel model variants. This has everything to do with parent company VW and the related emissions scandal that has engulfed the entire organization. It took an epic corporate disaster of VW’s own making for Porsche to find an excuse to get rid of diesel powertrains. A Diesel engine is fine for Kia or Vauxhall, for a Porsche? no way. Diesel models accounted for around 15 percent of total Porsche sales, however, the company is now trending towards petrol, hybridization and at a later point pure electric. Porsche sourced its diesel engines from parent company VW, meanwhile sales of the Panamera diesel were shrinking as consumers opted for petrol and Hybrid models. Indeed Porsche has revealed that of the 11,000 Panamera’s sold worldwide in 2017 the Panamera Hybrid accounted for 50 percent of sales. Porsche has gone back to its petrol roots, hybrid and pure EV’s will be the next logical step. That said, if you can afford a new Porsche then surely you can afford to run it, right? A diesel supercar is for tight-wads.  Porsche-End-Diesel-Production-Dailycarblog
