Top Gear Did This To A £50k Renault Alpine A110
Auto News
We told you Renault manufacture poorly made cars and now we finally have the evidence, no it isn’t yet another recall, it’s the story of the moment that is doing the rounds. Top Gear had in their possession a brand new, pre-production rubbish Renault Alpine A110. The Alpine is a rear mid-engine, rear wheel drive sports car powered by a turbocharged, 1.8-litre, 16v, 4-cylinder 250bhp engine. The Alpine A110 has received rave reviews, its a recreation of Alpines from the mid to late 20th century. Chris-Harris-Renault-Alpine-Dailycarblog Top Gear’s Chris Harris and Eddie Jordan were filming a stage of the Monte Carlo Rally when the car caught fire. Harris and Jordan stopped the on route as the car quickly became engulfed in flames, they vacated safely but the car burnt to a crisp. We here at DCB have always said Renaults are rubbish, and while that sounds like an uninformed throwaway comment it is actually founded upon bitter, bitter, bitter experience. We reckon the A110s’ turbo became over-stressed, gave up and sparked the fire. If you do fall for the false marketing campaigns and are conned into buying a Renault remember this, make sure to buy a fire extinguisher.  Renault-Alpine-Top-Gear-Dailycarblog
