Hamilton Rediscovers The ‘Eye of The Tiger’ After Crushing Win At The Spanish GP
Formula One
Prior to the Spanish Grand Prix and based on the results of previous races, it appeared the weekend would be a closely fought game but as the Spanish Grand Prix ended there was only one conclusion to be made. Lewis Hamilton dominated the race and not only left his teammate in his wake but also everyone else. Ferrari appears to have gone backward, Sebastian Vettel finished 4th behind the Red Bull of Verstappen. And while Bottas hinted he would go all out to secure victory in Spain after having victory snatched from the jaws of defeat in Baku, in the end, Bottas was a relegated to a mere 2nd place spectator. This season appears to be about the tyres, understand the tyres and you can unlock the true performance of the car. Mercedes now have a clear understanding. For the last three races Mercedes and most notably Hamilton have been treading water as Bottas seemed to be getting the upper hand over Hamilton. After securing a dominant victory, Hamilton believes he is “rejuvenated” for the remainder of the long campaign ahead. During a post-race interview, Hamilton said; “I think the victory has been a rejuvenating experience.. People probably think it was an easy race and I was cruising but I wasn’t cruising. I was comfortable but at no point did I feel like I was going to lose it.”   “It is the greatest feeling to come here and have that kind of performance and then win convincingly. That is what anybody with a win wants to do, do it that way.” “To think that is my 64th, it still feels like a first, special and unique in its own way. I know I did my job this weekend to the maximum and I didn’t leave anything on the table so there is no better feeling.” Hamilton will be participating in the first of two in-season tests at Barcelona on Tuesday and Wednesday as will his teammate and all other F1 teams. The next race will be held at Monaco in two weeks time, Red Bull are expected to be strong. It will also be interesting to see if McLaren does indeed have the best chassis on the grid, so far that hasn’t been the case despite repeatedly stating so last season.  Lewis-Hamilton-2018-Spanish-GP-Celebration-Dailycarblog
