This Awesome Looking Nissan GTR Ultra Prototype Will Never Be Built
Auto News

Nissan has revealed the most radical looking limited edition GTR ever made… but unfortunately, it’s just another stunning-never-to-be-built prototype… Or is it? With the all-new GTR expected to be revealed in 2020, Nissan may well have given us a styling cue spoiler alert of the generation II model. What we have for the moment is an idealised GTR concept, prototype. The Nissan GTR Ultra.

The design styling of the Nissan GTR Ultra is undoubtedly eye-catching both internal and external. The cabin is clad in carbon fiber and Alcantara, it’s no-nonsense, no sat-nav, no stereo, an indication this is a car to be driven and not merely to be seen in. Nissan GTR Ultra, interior, Dailycarblog The Nissan GTR Ultra is a collaboration between Nissan and legendary Italian design and engineering company, Italdesign. Italdesign’s clients have included Ferrari and Lamborghini, they have collaborated with multiple car companies, mostly with the VW group, who has owned the company since 2010 via it’s Lamborghini brand. Nissan GTR Ultra, rear quarter view, Dailycarblog The GTR Ultra uses a ‘without limits’ philosophy and commemorates the 50th anniversaries of both Italdesign and the GTR. Underneath that sleek bodywork is a distillation of Nissan’s GT3 racing pedigree. The 3.8-liter V6 VR38DETT engine has been tuned to produce an estimated 720ps and 780 Nm of torque. The GTR Ultra also makes do with adjustable Bilstein Dampers, front 6-piston front brakes with 4-pistons at the rear and a reinforced dual-clutch 6-speed transmission which sends all that power to all four wheels. But don’t expect the 2020 GTR to look anything like the Ultra, the 2020 GTR will be a watered down version, building such a precise shape requires expensive tooling. Some of the shapes may be too complex for regular mass production and therefore too expensive to machine on a large scale which is why we reckon the 2020 GTR will look not as awesome.  Nissan GTR Ultra, Dailycarblog
