Two vehicles traveling in the opposite direction through the narrow pass of Cottonwood Canyon Utah end up colliding. The impact of the crash combined with the momentum pitch both cars off the road and over the mountainside. Prior to the accident the pickup truck unexpectedly fishtails into the opposite lane as it rounds a gentle bend. The crash with the oncoming Subaru is unavoidable.

Both vehicles come to rest at the bottom of the canyon just missing the river below by a few feet. The occupants of the Subaru survive unscathed and so does the driver of the pickup truck, but his partner is trapped in the vehicle which came to rest upside down.

The emergency services quickly arrive at the scene and extract the trapped female from within the pickup truck who is taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Cottonwood Canyon Utah is a scenic road, maybe best visited after winter.
