The Apple iCar Will Never Happen
Auto News

The Apple iCar will never come to fruition. Constant rumors that the Cupertino-based firm will one day make an electric car is just that, a rumor. There are many articles regarding the so-called iCar and the conclusion is that these stories are nothing more than click-bait fodder. This is why we are doing this article. Feel free to click on an advertisement, it will really help us out and don’t forget to subscribe. Anyway, the Apple iCar will never happen because Apple, the company, is so rich it doesn’t need to venture into the auto manufacturing world to make yet more money.

Apple is worth nearly $2 trillion, it is richer than the annual GDP of Brazil. Apple could easily buy any car manufacturer if it wanted to. For example, Toyota is valued at $59BN, Mercedes at $58BN. These figures are peanuts for a company with the wealth that Apple has at its disposal. And they could easily buy Hyundai which is worth around $17BN. The two discussed a possible partnership before talks stalled.

Apple is already in the auto manufacturing business, Apple CarPlay is integrated into nearly every in-car infotainment system. Maybe Apple will provide future software solutions. Software generates significant revenues and drives massive profits. So why make automotive hardware which requires massive investment and draws narrow profits per vehicle sold. For this reason alone, the iCar will never happen.
