As we often say here at DCBHQ, if hydrogen is the most abundant element in the Universe why is it not the most abundant fuel on Earth? Hydrogen powered cars are on a nanoscale compared to fossil-fueled powered and battery-powered cars? Elon Musk points out that although hydrogen is the most abundant element/fuel source in the Universe there isn’t a lot of naturally occurring hydrogen on earth.
And that’s a good thing because naturally occurring hydrogen would cause a lot of issues for the human race. To make hydrogen you have to separate it either from water or methane. Both processes are energy-intensive and as Musk point’s out in the end you are still burning hydrocarbons.
Hydrogen-powered cars bad is the takeaway. We’ll leave the technical stuff to Musk, i.e. watch the video.
