Max Verstappen and Christian Horner. For once we will not refer to either in any other term other than Max Verstappen and Christian Horner. The debate will rage on as to whether Lewis Hamilton was robbed of securing his 8th driver’s title at the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. What is possible and fair to say is that Lewis Hamilton was a victim of circumstance.
Verstappen deserved the title, he fought like a cat and drove like a king. In the end, it came down to a bit of luck, but you have to make your own luck. At Abu Dhabi, Verstappen was where he needed to be and he took his chance. I maintain Verstappen’s best race of the year was at the USA GP.
This video shows both Verstappen and Horner post Abu Dhabi, back at the Red Bull HQ in Milton Keynes. Both reflect on a season past in a way we don’t see them. Away from the glare of the media spotlight and microphone, both come across as… normal.
Next season it starts all over again, back to zero.
