Honest John, which was once debatable on so many levels, and probably still is, was owned and fronted by Mr. Honest John. The website went into administration a few years ago only to be rescued by Heycar who transformed the business model from useless consumer car advice to a used car buying and selling platform.

According to various reports, the Honest John website attracted 20 million visitors per year and had 400,000 registered users and more than 70,000 newsletter subscribers. Yet it went into administration after facing significant cash flow issues. One presumes the cash flowed into a singular bank account and never flowed out again.

Mr. John was the founder and face of the Honest John website, which was debatable on so many levels. Mr. John also fronted the company’s YouTube channel with car reviews. Mr. John’s style of presentation and editing skills is so horrific it’s pure comedy and creepy at the same time.

When Heycar purchased the Honest John website they sought to immediately remove Mr. John’s presence from the site and deleted his pitiful YouTube back catalog. It was a digital slaughtering. Thankfully a small band of YouTuber’s saved a few of Mr. John’s creepy video reviews as a warning for future generations.
