Ultra-geek and mechanically minded YouTuber Engineering Explained totally geeks out on the Subaru WRX’s CVT gearbox. CVTs use a pulley system to sustain peak power when accelerating. Indeed CVTs tend to work best in powerful cars, as is the case with the latest spec Subaru WRX. Engineering Explained loves the CVT transmission in the 2023 spec Subaru WRX like only an engineering geek could.
