The final nail in the Aston Martin DB11 coffin has been hammered into place with the newly revealed Aston Martin DBS Ultimate Volante. The high-performance convertible follows in the footsteps of the DBS 770 Ultimate Coupe. Both will serve an end the DB11 lineage that began in 2016.
The Aston Martin DBS Ultimate Volante is powered by an uprated 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 which churns out 759bhp and over 1,000NM of torque. That’s 44bhp more than the so-called “standard” DBS.
Performance figures are brutal, the 0-62mph time takes just 3.2 seconds and the top speed is rated at 211mph.
Aston Martin worked on improving body stiffness and rigidity, and detailed work has seen tweaks to the 8-speed auto gearbox, and improved braking, and handling. Thoroughly expected for a luxury performance car.
Only 199 DBS Ultimate Volantes will be made in addition to the 300 coupes. The Aston Martin 770 DBS Ultimate Volante is priced at £337,000, and all units quickly found buyers with deep pockets. Those buyers can expect first deliveries to commence at the end of summer.
