Final preparations are underway as Aston Martin plans to unveil the new generation DB12 bloodline on 24 May 2023. Aston Martin is heralding the launch as “the start of the ultra-luxury British brand’s next generation Aston”. Not much is known technically, however, the V12 powerplant will survive. Will it be a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain? we’ll learn more on the 24th.

From the official press images, we can guess that the new DB12 exterior design language will follow an evolutionary path. Thankfully Aston Martin is investing in creating a bespoke media infotainment system, it’s a long time coming.

Core values of high-performance and ultra-luxury are spearheading Aston Martin’s next generation of sports cars. The DB12 will be the first model to demonstrate what’s to come.

Aston Martin says it wants to “break free from the norms of the GT sector”, but the company also needs to break-even and make a real profit for once.

Losses more than doubled during 2022 as the company invested heavily in new models and struggles continued with supply chain management problems post covid.

Will the DB12 be a temporary shine to mask the financial troubles continually brewing for Aston? or will the DB12 really mark the end of a very long beginning? We’ll know more on the 24th
