Volvo’s large premium saloon the S90 is aging and a replacement can’t come along anytime soon. Nevertheless, it still remains an attractive vehicle. Volvo is currently focused on finalizing its electrification plan, which will eventually lead to the development of pure electric powertrains, paving the way for a new generation of battery-powered vehicles. The all-new 2024 spec S90 is rumoured to be joined by the battery-electric variant ES90.

The ES90 is poised to compete directly with the Tesla Model S and will utilize the same components as the EX90 electric SUV that was unveiled earlier this year. Therefore expect the ES90 to be powered by a 107 kWh battery and single and dual motor variants.

The ES90 sedan is expected to have a similar interior design language, optional extras, and pricing strategy as the EX90. You know the thing. But what will the ES90 look like? We just don’t have the imagination to visualise it in our heads nor the artistic talent to render it on paper.
