Christian “Coco Pops” Horner: I Am Red Bull No One Is Bigger Than Me
Formula One

Christian ” Coco Pops” Horner fired a message to his detractors and those wishing to usurp him from his tenure at Red Bull by stating that; he is Red Bull. OK, so I am loosely paraphrasing what he actually said for the sake of irony. But it is fairly close to his mindset at the moment. Horner’s position at Red Bull is subject to intense scrutiny after his Personal Assistant filed a complaint against him alleging controlling and coercive behaviour.

Mr “Coco Pops” Horner was found innocent of misconduct following an internal investigation by Red Bull. However, due to the lack of transparency in the investigation, many who report and follow the ongoing events suspect a cover-up was implemented to conceal an internal power struggle within Red Bull over the allegations.

Two factions have formed within Red Bull over the fallout of the investigation. One group sympathizes with the Personal Assistant, seeing “Coco Pops” Horner as damaged goods. The other group is tentatively supporting “Coco Pops” Horner. Mad Dog Helmut Marko, Jos Verstappen, and Max Verstappen are in the camp who sympathise with Personal Assistant.

There is a lot more that I am leaving out because this is a soap opera, but the bottom line is that “Coco Pops” Horner’s job is said to be on a very thin line because the two camps for and against Mr “Coco Pops” are believed to be converging, although the latter is a developing story

During a recent media interview after the Saudi Grand Prix, Christian “Coco Pops” Horner attempted to regain focus and assert some form of control.

“The team is the team, Max is part of the team, Helmut is part of the team, I lead this team, and everybody has a key role to play.”

“No individual is bigger than the team.”

To assert that he is the de facto team leader, only to immediately contradict himself by stating that no one person is bigger than the team, is, by his own admission, an acknowledgement that he, Mr “Coco Pops” Horner, holds greater importance within the team.

So how does this end? Not well. Following the conclusion of the investigation, the Personal Assistant was recently suspended from her role. Fiona is likely to launch a civil case against Red Bull, putting more pressure on the company to remove “Coco Pops” Horner.
