Hennessey’s latest high-octane creation is focused on making the Corvette C8 Stingray hard-top convertible great again. The Supercharged ‘H700’ Corvette C8 Stingray, armed with a robust belt-driven blower, propels the standard mid-engine Stingray HTC to exotic realms of power and torque, poised to rival the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06.
The eighth-generation C8 convertible comes equipped with a mid-mounted LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine, delivering 490 bhp and 465 lb-ft of torque in its stock configuration. To unlock the latent potential of this American small-block powerhouse, Hennessey’s Texas-based engineers installed a high-performance supercharger complemented by an air induction system featuring an air-to-water intercooler, and an upgraded cat-back exhaust system.
Complemented by recalibrated high-performance engine software, the ‘H700’ now commands an explosive 708 bhp and 638 lb-ft of torque—a staggering 44 percent increase in horsepower and 37 percent boost in torque over the factory rating. In terms of raw engine output, Hennessey’s supercharged ‘H700’ Corvette C8 Stingray eclipses Chevrolet’s flagship C8 Z06, which boasts a factory-rated 670 bhp and 460 lb-ft of torque from its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane crank V8.
