A Ferrari unveiling is always a momentous occasion, even if the marque has veered slightly from its iconic design language. Ferrari shines brightest when it embraces a restrained flair in its design ethos, while maintaining the impeccable engineering prowess from the engine to the chassis and powertrain. The new Ferrari 12Cilindri epitomizes this modern interpretation of restrained sophistication, aligning with the era into which it has arrived.
Drawing inspiration from the Grand Tourers of the 1950s and ‘60s, the Ferrari 12Cilindri pays homage to the classic front-mounted Ferrari V12 two-seater. Under its sculpted hood lies the latest iteration of Ferrari’s 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, now boasting an impressive output of 820 bhp and 677Nm of torque, with redline soaring to 9500 rpm.
In a quest to enable the V12 to reach such dizzying heights, engineers meticulously reduced the weight and inertia of engine components, employing titanium con rods that slash rotating mass by 40% compared to steel counterparts.
Acceleration from 0-62mph is dispatched in a mere 2.9 seconds, propelling the 12Cilindri to a top speed exceeding 211mph.
Addressing modern emissions standards without compromising performance, a new exhaust system featuring a ceramic catalytic converter and particulate filter ensures compliance with EU6E, China6B, and BIN50 regulations. The Ferrari 12Cilindri channels power through its 8-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission).
Inside the cockpit, a cutting-edge Human Machine Interface (HMI) revolutionizes the driving experience. Anchored by a central 10.25” touchscreen display accessible to both driver and passenger, the interface encompasses all primary functions. Complementing this is a 15.6” driver display relaying comprehensive driving and vehicle dynamics information, while an 8.8” display ensures the passenger remains fully engaged in the journey.
Seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto facilitates mobile connectivity, effortlessly controlled from the central display. Additionally, a standard wireless charging mat nestled within the central tunnel simplifies phone charging.
Ferrari has unveiled the pricing for both coupe and Spider variants, with the former starting from €395,000 and the latter from €435,000 in Italy. The UK launch is slated for the first half of 2025.
