This is the Drako Dragon, and like you, I had never heard of the startup electric vehicle company before. It was founded in a garage in Silicon Valley. However, the mythical Silicon Valley garage startup is often not what it seems; these startups are typically funded by substantial amounts of cash and run by savvy business people, and the “garage” is usually a proper business premises.

Drako is an EV startup founded by multi-millionaire entrepreneurs, targeting a demographic of similarly wealthy Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. The Drako Dragon is a carbon fibre-bodied, quad-motor SUV EV.

The key takeaway is that the Drako Dragon boasts 2,000 hp, can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 1.9 seconds, and has a claimed top speed of 200 mph. It also has a claimed range of 420 miles. What we can verify is that the Dragon is priced starting at $290,000.

Despite its carbon fiber construction, the Drako Dragon still weighs over 2.2 tonnes. Personally, I would opt for a Lotus Eletre or a Tesla Model Y if I were looking for an electric SUV as a daily driver. Nevertheless, Supercar Blondie takes a look around the Drako Dragon.
