Lynk & Co 900 PHEV: A Range Rover On Steroids For A Third of The Price
Video

The YouTube channel The Electric Viking reviews the Lynk & Co 900, a Range Rover-sized SUV from Geely’s premium brand. What sets it apart from being just another Land Rover rival from China is its underlying engineering, which is derived from Volvo’s current EV platform. As explained by The Electric Viking, the entry-level Lynk & Co 900 is powered by a 190bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, producing a mammoth 741bhp.

But it’s the battery pack that truly stands out. While the average PHEV SUV battery size ranges between 17- 26 kWh, the 900 utilizes a 52 kWh battery pack that combines sodium-ion and lithium-ion chemistry for greater energy density and faster recharge times. Its electric range is officially rated at 174 miles, though a more realistic real-world estimate would be around 138 miles.

For comparison, the Range Rover PHEV starts at £161,000 and has a real-world electric range of roughly 48 miles. Meanwhile, the entry-level Lynk & Co 900 is priced at just $45,000 (£34,000 GBP). It matches the Range Rover in luxury while offering superior technology at only 30% of the cost.
