With just two months until F1 roars onto screens, stars Damson Idris (Joshua Pearce) and Kerry Condon (Kate McKenna) pull back the curtain on what could be the most adrenaline-fueled racing film ever made. Shot on real Grand Prix circuits during live events and backed by the powerhouse duo of Brad Pitt and Sir Lewis Hamilton, F1 blends Hollywood spectacle with raw motorsport realism.
Damson and Kerry dish on working with Pitt, praising the screen legend for his down-to-earth presence and creative vision, “making the movie better every step of the way.” Damson also shares his deep-rooted passion for Formula 1 — from binging Drive to Survive to bonding with drivers in the paddock.
Kerry dives into the thrill of filming at legendary racetracks, each offering its own pulse-pounding vibe and challenges.
As part of a special moment celebrating IWC Schaffhausen — official watch partner of the film’s fictional team “APXGP” — Damson Idris returned to the track at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting for a live stunt, tearing up the asphalt in the same Mercedes GT he drives in the film. The scene, pulled straight from a pivotal moment in F1, gave fans an early taste of the film’s breakneck intensity.
Stunt driver Eliott Cole handled the APXGP car used throughout the shoot, while Idris — who does much of his own driving — was on hand to reflect on the rigorous training and global race-day filming that brought F1 to life.
