It’s not exactly a groundbreaking news day — I mean, it’s not even a technical breakthrough — but Polestar has found the missing link… by becoming the first automaker to integrate Google Maps’ new live lane guidance feature directly into a vehicle’s driver display.
The new update will debut in the Polestar 4 and enhance navigation for cars with Google built in by providing real-time lane information using AI analysis of road elements from the car’s forward-facing camera.
Displayed on the 10.2-inch driver display, the feature visually highlights lanes and offers audio cues to help drivers navigate complex highways and traffic with greater ease and safety. It supports Polestar’s driver-centric UX strategy, aiming to reduce stress and prevent missed exits or sudden lane changes.
Initially rolling out via over-the-air updates in the US and Sweden, the feature will expand to more regions and road types later.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
