Xiaomi unveiled a custom “Crystal Purple” edition of its YU7 Max SUV at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, launching its new bespoke paint programme that will offer 100 custom colours over three years. Special paints start at 11,000 yuan (~$1,540), with options for customised wheels, coloured Brembo callipers, and premium emblems.

In traditional Chinese culture, purple represented nobility, power, divinity, and immortality. Today, its significance has broadened, and it is commonly linked to love, romance, and luxury, especially among younger generations.

In Western culture, purple is often associated with the Joker… from Batman… the Dark Knight movie… thanks Christopher Nolan… anyway, back to the YU7…

The YU7 Max continues to offer 2WD and 4WD versions on an 800V SiC platform, with ranges up to 835 km and 0–100 km/h times from 5.88 s to 3.23 s, depending on configuration. Top models support ultra-fast 5.2C charging, enabling 10%–80% in 12 minutes.

Xiaomi also introduced HAD Enhanced, an upgraded driver-assist suite rolling out via HyperOS 1.11. Key improvements include expanded AEB coverage, new forward/reverse low-speed AEB, mis-acceleration protection, and high-speed emergency steering assistance for complex collision-avoidance scenarios.

In October 2025, Xiaomi sold 48,654 new-energy vehicles, with the YU7 contributing 33,662, surpassing Tesla Model Y’s domestic figure (after exports). Since its July launch, the YU7 has exceeded 70,000 cumulative deliveries, ranking among China’s top-selling pure electric midsize SUVs.
