Escape From The UK: Yiannimize Sells His Dream Home As He Flees To Cyprus
Video

OK, so the headlines may be hyperbolic, but I don’t know about you—living in the UK as I do, and travelling abroad as often as I do—I can’t help thinking that the United Kingdom is in decline. If you travel in the Middle East or the Far East, you can’t help but notice the improvements being made.

Look at China and the investments the Chinese are making in public infrastructure, such as high-speed rail. There aren’t endless political pundits asking, “How are you going to pay for it?” Living costs are also cheaper. In China, you can rent a luxury penthouse flat for around $850 USD per month.

This decline has forced Yiannimize to rethink his options, and the hustling, wheeling-and-dealing operator decided to pack up and get the hell out of Europe. He claims it’s for personal safety, but I’d say it’s for tax breaks. He couldn’t afford Monaco, so he ended up in Cyprus.

Yiannimize has Greek Cypriot heritage, and in the end, home is where the heart—and the tax breaks—are. He sold his home, which he originally purchased for £1.85 million, refurbished it, and then sold it for £3 million. He spent £100,000 on the kitchen alone.

Anyway, Yiannimize takes us on a tour of his former home and discusses the pros and cons behind his decision to sell what was once his dream home.
